How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

I don't want to use human hair dye because it's dangerous to dogs. My dog has these white patches on her and it would look adorable. If they where pink. Plus I'm bored. I want something easy to wash out though. What should I use? Oh and none of the How could you be so mean blah blah blah. Or dogs aren't ornaments. I do CARE for my dog and she is happy and healthy thank you. She doesn't care if her fur is pink!

Okay, let me help you with this...

I believe I read something... a link of sorts... on www.petgroomerforums.com regarding this. Actually you can post this same question and they will guide you step by step through the process. That website is generally focused for pet/dog/cat groomers but anyone can go there for info about their pets. I know there's a product called "Blo-pens" where you can do designs on your dog's fur.

Oh, and I don't think you're mean at all !!

Heck, if you went to some of the grooming seminars i've been to you'd see some pretty wacked out looking things !!

They actually have contests on these kinds of things... sculpting and coloring your dog.

I think it's COOL that you want to do this !!

Post pics and/or message me and send me a pic when you figure it all out, okay??

Good luck !!

How could you be so mean? Dogs aren't ornaments!!! jk......food coloring might work, just pour some on there!

I guess you COULD use that....but I don't see the point in changing my dog's fur color. You aren't mean, but it's kind of a weird idea.

If she doesn't care what her fur color is, then why color it?

........oh please....

Why are you subjecting your poor dog your boredness? Grow up!

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

If you are bored, you should find something more meaningful to do. If you are not sure how to use the dye, practice with yourself first.

if you shave the white bits its pink underneath anyway

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

you could if you wanted to.

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

Don't bother doing that unless you want dye stains all over your house.....

They dye will rub off all over on your carpets, furniture...ect.

And I think your parents will be very upset when they come home and find stains all over their stuff.

Plus that is torment to the dog.

Don't do that to your poor dog!

Like I said the dye rubs off and will get all over your house....

I have a white dog and I love him that color so I don't know why you would want to change your dogs color, just my opinion, but I don't see how food coloring would hurt her( at least I hope it's a her if your going to dye it pink :) ) but I don't recommend it though.

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

You could, but why? How would you have felt if your parents decided when you were a baby to give you purple skin (by dipping you in food coloring) because they were bored? She's a living being, not a doll.

dogs arent frickin fashion accessories dogs are animals. living breathing lives. how do u know if ur dog doesnt care if her fur is pink. if u really loved ur dog u wouldnt do it. it is annoying to see people treating their dogs like DOLLS instead of DOGS which is what it is. A DOG. there is a difference. i bet u cant think of ONE good reason to do it. maybe u should get some friends and a social life instead of taking ur boredom out on ur dog

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

Why would you want to? If you are bored, take her for a walk, join a training class, teach her a new trick, take her for a visit to a nursing home or children's home where she can make other people hapy...there are lots of things to do that will ease your boredom ad help out the world.

omg omg omg my sister spilled kool aid all over my dog she was pink for a month it was so funny. the only reason she was pink for a month was cuz we didnt bathe her so it should was out

OK the other day my 2 year old accidently dropped koolaid on our white dog. And it really did make his fur pink!!! I would use koolaid. Don't use food coloring though it's really hard to get off of anything especially hands and tables and stuff. So I can't imagine that it would wash out easy. But the koolaid does.

Maybe you could try using kool-aid mix. I've heard of people using it on their own hair. If i remember right, you get the red kind and mix it with conditioner and leave it on somewhere around 20 mins, then rinse it off with warm water.....can get messy so you may want to do it outside.

And it's not going to hurt the dog, and it's not going to make the dog embarrased or anything. I think locking one up in a crate most of it's life is alot worse. Some people are know it alls...just ignore their rude comments. It just makes them feel better about themselves to tell people how to live their lives. I bet alot of these people that say it's torture don't mind painting their dogs nails or making it wear clothes. OR LOCKING IT UP

Hey, I admit I have actually colored my dogs before. He actually liked the attention he was getting in the process.

Use pink lemonade kool-aid. Mix like 2-3 packs in a cup of water and use a cloth with the color on it and apply to patches. I tied dyed my poodle using this.

Can't you make better use of your time?? HOW BOUT DOIN YOUR SCHOOL WORK.. The food coloring comes off very easily. So if you see pink stuff on your treasured possessions--guess what?? Some idiot may call animal control -- for abuse... Dogs are color blind...

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

i know a groomer that sometimes dyes dogs for customers. i think it is food coloring but not sure. call some groomer that might be able to give you instructions. it takes a while to wear out of coat. i have seen some dyed dogs that acted very embarrassed by this and tried to hide. so think this out please.

if your bored go for a walk with your dog, go to friends or mall. you are doing this for you not the dog. good luck

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

I think this sounds cute! It won't hurt her,she won't notice the color change, and YOU are the one who looks at her 24/7.

She'll enjoy the extra attention she gets when you take her out!

"Oh,My God! That is so cruel! What if she hates the colar pink?!" Get over it,people.

I would recommend using a gel-based food coloring and dissolving it in some water. I would also recommend using a fine-toothed comb or flea comb to apply the coloring...especially if you are only dying a specific area.

I own white german shepherds and while most of the time they are just white dogs (excluding their forays into mud puddles) I have occasionally dyed them for fun. When the local college team went all the way to the final game in March madness my female went orange and blue. For Independence Day one year my female got a blue star over one eye and a red ear and last year my male got a big flag on his right side. I used food coloring for all of my dye jobs and my dogs were not put off by it in the least. Two hours of "petting" and "Mom's" undivided attention...sign me up!

I will warn you however that food coloring comes of VERY easily when it is wet and it takes quite a while to dry. If you aren't careful it will be all over EVERYTHING...the floor, your hands, furniture, etc. The color also fades pretty quickly (of course, with pink this is not as big a deal as with blue and red and orange). And while it does wash out fairly easily, there will probably be tinges of color for days or even weeks (especially with a red-based color like pink).

How can I dye my dog pink with food coloring?

kool - aid (non sweetened)

dogs really aren't dollies to be dressed up, why can't you just be happy the way she is?

If you're so bored, dye your own hair with food coloring. Let your dog be a dog, not an accessory.
