Apprentice hairdressing?

im thinking of getting my hair cut by a apprentice whos never really cut a humans hair befor

what r the risks of them stuffing it up making me look like a clown?

and will someone be watching them? like the boss and will the boss help him/her cut hold the hair things like that??

Apprentice hairdressing?

More than likely they will have someone watching over them. Especially if it is one apprentice to one instructor. If you are going to a school to have it done in a basics classroom, you might have 1 or 2 instructors to 10-20 students. The instructor will be in the room, and usually, the students are taught when in doubt, don't cut. So you should be okay. Try to not be nervous, because your nervousness will rub off and make the student nervous as well. They'll be dealing with their own issues with it being a first haircut on a real person and trying to remember all the correct things they need to be doing. (They've worked on plenty of manniquin heads, and they can be difficult to work on, so usually a human head is a delight!) Make them feel as comfortable as you can, and communicate clearly. But I'd keep it simple. Don't be going for a new style change!

Your chances of a licensed cosmetologist making you look like a clown are higher than an apprentice. When you go to a school, they have someone looking over their shoulder most of the time. But as soon as they are out of school...they are on their own. Just don't ask them to do anything to drastic, and try to make them feel comfortable.
