I found a flea biting my neck today and when I tried to get it off, it jumped away and I'm afraid it jumped into my hair! Can or will the flea start to live in and lay eggs in my hair?

no fleas do not infest humans..i knw this bcuz i use to baby sit and the kids that came to my hse one year had fleas in their diaper bag, i called the doc. and he said that they cannot live on humans only animals...only lice live on humans not any form of fleas...hope this was helpful..and bomb your house cuz that is how we made sure that our dogs ddnt get fleas. and make sure to disinfect the house...carpets well vacuumed and keep all bedding washed... do this really good, should only take a couple of times maybe even once and, if you r gnna bomb , i would wait to clean till afterwards. thats what i did and it worked the doc did say that they will bite humans, just can't live on us..phew.LOL

the flea won't live on you or lay eggs on you. only on animals, or in carpets and upholstery. they will bite you and then jump off. my cats had fleas last fall and my house was also infested. It took me 6 weeks of spraying and vacuuming twice a day to get rid of them. It was a horrible experience. get flea medication on your animals right away and give it to them every month forever so you never have to worry about this again.

they feeed on your blood thats why they bit you ,but they live in the carpets ,under floor boards any where dark and warm ,go to the shop and buy some household flea spray close all the windows and doors as you do each room ,then go out for a few hours this should get rid of them if you notice after a few days you get bit again they spray again ,as sometimes new eggs that get missed will hatch ,catch them early and you will kill the lot ,but no they dont breed on you they feed on you .

There is a spray you can get at WalMart called Enforcer that is safe to use on furniture, carpeting, bedding, clothing, etc. My vet told me to bathe my cat in Dawn detergent and warm, not hot, water, once a week until the fleas were gone, but not to put commercial flea killers on him, especially if they contain pyrethrin, which is deadly to most cats.
